Veterans Information

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home will assist you in obtaining all the benefits available to the veteran and his family. The veteran’s DD 214 Discharge Paper must be provided to prove eligibility to receive VA Benefits.

We will assist in receiving a U.S. flag, military honors, grave marker (either a headstone or bronze plaque), and flag holder for the grave. If there is any  burial allowance for pension or service connected disability, plot allowance,  VA Facility Death Reimbursement, we will help fill out the forms.

If burial is to take place in a National Cemetery, like Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska, the veteran is entitled to a lot, grave liner, opening and closing of the grave, grave marker and perpetual care.

Please Note:  The Veterans Administration and National Cemetery do not provide funeral services or pre-arrangements. You must make arrangements through a funeral home. For more information about pre-planning call us at 345-3838.
