A. Louise Pollmann

A. Louise Pollmann, age 91, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at her home at Brookdale McCook in McCook, NE.

Louise was born January 1, 1925 to Ray and Dorothy (Gettle) Creighton in Franklin, NE. She was one of three children born to the union.  The family later moved to Trenton where Louise attended school, graduating from Trenton High School in 1943.  Following her high school graduation, Louise went on to attend secretarial school in Denver, CO.  She returned to Trenton , and worked in Creighton’s Dry Goods Store for her parents.

On January 6, 1946, Louise married John C. Pollmann in Trenton, NE.  The couple made their home on the family farm North West of Culberston where together they farmed and raised six children.  Throughout the years, Louise was known for her large gardens. She enjoyed canning and baking for her family, working crossword puzzles, sewing, especially needle work, and watching her afternoon soap operas.  She selflessly volunteered her time at the thrift store in Culbertson.

Louise was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Culbertson, NE where she also served on a variety of lady’s committees.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, G. Ray and Dorothy Creighton; husband, John C. Pollmann; daughter, Joyce Samuelson; and brother, Ray Creighton; and son-in-law, Roland Hilker.

Survivors include her children, Judy (Lynn) Redmer of Garden Plain, KS, Larry (Diane) Pollmann of McCook, Linda Hilker of McCook, Jarry (Val) Pollmann of McCook and Loren (Margaret) Pollmann of Trenton; sister, Jeanene (Alvin) Fahrenbruch of McCook; grandchildren, Lori Nelson, Jason and Lynn Redmer II, Darren and Lisa Pollmann, Josh and Justin Pollmann, Max and Alex Pollmann; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and close friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 1-8 PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home McCook.  Family will greet friends from 5-8 PM.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, beginning at 10:30 AM, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with Pastor Alisa Parde and Pastor Clark Bates officiating.  Burial will follow in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name.
