Barbara Jean (Fassler) Neumann of McCook passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at Community Hospital. She was 88 years old.

Barbara was born on January 3, 1925 at Culbertson to parents Virgil G. and Caroline (Wagner) Fassler. She graduated from Culbertson High School.

On November 13, 1944 she was united in marriage to Joseph M. Neumann at Decatur, Alabama. To this union a daughter Vivian Irene was born. Barbara was a busy homemaker. She enjoyed needlework, reading, gardening and travel. She was also an artist, and liked to spend time painting.

Barbara spent most of her married life in Connecticut. She moved to California in 1984, and then to McCook in 2005. While in California she was a member of Newcomer's Club and Women's Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Virgil and Caroline Fassler; and husband, Joseph Neumann on August 27, 1996.

Survivors include her daughter, Vivian (David) Smith, granddaughter, Debra Lynn Von Lon of Maryland as well as two great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Community Hospital Home Health/Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.
