Dennis "Denny" Leak

June 5, 1951 — October 3, 2014

Dennis 'Denny" Dale Leak, age 63, of Indianola passed at his home on October 3, 2014. He was born in North Platte, NE on June 5, 1951 to Bob and Donna (Gartrell) Leak.

On June 7, 1969 he was united in marriage to Carol Hall, and to this union two children were born, William Dale and Tricia Ann. He served in the National Guard from December 1969 to December 1975. On September 15, 1981 he was united in marriage to Lori Guthrie and to this union two more children, Brandon Lee and Jessica Rose were born.

During his early years he worked for area farmers, had his own construction company, was a receiving clerk for TRW and then in 1977 he began his employment at Dayco working his way into a Supervisor position until 1998 when a massive stroke forced him into retirement.

Denny has always been an artist at heart. He enjoyed drawing pictures of horses and riding his own horse on numerous trail rides. Denny played rhythm guitar for the Midnight Marauders. He enjoyed carpentry work, and raised many exotic wild animals when his children were younger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell "Bob" Leak.

He is survived by his mother, Donna of Indianola; siblings, Rod Leak (special friend, Irene Wessel) of Broken Bow, Janice (David) Weeder of Loomis; children, Bill Leak of Bartley, Tricia (Steve) Keppen of Lehigh Acres, FL, Brandon (Kayla) Leak of Lamar, AR and Jessi Leak of McCook; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2014 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Wulf officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
