Dixie Lee Frink, 68, of Maywood, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, surrounded by her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dixie will be remembered for her unwavering strength, feisty spirit, and deep love for those she held close.

Born on June 1, 1957, in McCook, Nebraska, Dixie was the beloved daughter of Harold and E. Laree Meissner. She grew up on the family farm north of McCook with her siblings, Linda, Tim, and David, where she spent her time outside running through the pastures and loving all the farm animals. She graduated from Medicine Valley High School in 1975, where her work ethic and determination were evident even at a young age. These qualities would go on to define both her professional and personal life.

Dixie’s determination and energy shone through in every role she took on. Rarely sitting still, Dixie often worked multiple jobs. Her main profession was the proud owner and operator of Midnight Express Trucking. Dixie and her husband, Kevin, built Midnight Express from the ground up and spent 40 years hauling cattle, the occasional corn, dirt, and even chickens once. As if dispatching numerous loads of cattle, a day wasn’t enough, Dixie spent years driving a bus for the local schools and working as a postmaster relief in her “free time”.

Dixie married Rodney Anderson, and to this union, 3 children were born: Casey, Erin, and Randi. On December 30, 1987, she married Kevin Frink, with whom she was a devoted and loving wife through all life’s ups and downs. Dixie and Kevin were generous supporters of the many Maywood and Curtis organizations. Dixie spent over 20 years helping the Maywood Fire Department with their annual coyote calling contest and always enjoyed the camaraderie with the fire departments.

Dixie loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, monthly suppers with her siblings, cooking and baking for family events, growing tomatoes in her garden, riding her Harley Davidson Motorcycle and spending time on the boat trying to catch fish. In her younger years, she was a part of the Wranglerettes and enjoyed bowling and softball. She loved taking care of her kids and her kitties as well as tending to her herd of pet cows and bulls on the farm.

Dixie is survived by her husband, Kevin; children, Casey (Stacey) Anderson, Erin (Jerrod) Pascoe, Randi (Michael) Houghtelling; and their father Rodney Anderson; sister, Linda Campbell; brothers, Tim (Ellen) Meissner, David (Sharon) Meissner; sisters-in-law, Joan Thayer and Becky Routh; brother-in-law, Ted (Laura) Frink; 10 grandkids; 3 great grandkids (soon to be 5); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ella Laree Meissner; grandparents, Elmer and Hazel Lashley and Ernie and Esther Meissner; brothers-in-law, Calvin Campbell and Scott Jacobson; and mother-in-law, Nancy Jacobson.

As Dixie would say, until we meet again, “Hurry right along every chance you get”.
