Donald Duane Curran, lifelong resident of Hayes Center, NE, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, NE. He was 82 years old.
Donnie was born August 24, 1936 on the family farm outside of Hayes Center to parents John and Elva (Scott) Curran. He was one of three children who attended school in Hayes Center, graduating with the Class of 1955.
Donnie married Carole Leffler in Hayes Center in 1957. To this union five children were born; Cherri, Dale, Brad, Janeen and Jeremy.
Donnie enlisted in the United States Army in 1957. Following his Honorable Discharge in 1959, Donnie returned to Hayes Center where he continued to farm.
Donnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking long drives in the country. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he could often be found watching one of their many sporting events.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brad Curran; sister and brother in law, Norma Jean (Marvin) Peterson; and brother in law, Robert Repass.
Those left to celebrate his life include his four children, Cherri (Steve) Broz of Hayes Center, Dale Curran of Holbrook, NE, Janeen (Bob) Rosno of Hayes Center and Jeremy Curran of Hayes Center; sister, Rosa Belle Repass of McCook; twelve grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren; as well as many extended family members.
