Dorothy was born on September 15, 1923 to Roy Leslie Stewart and Hazel Leota (Bymer) on the family farm north of Culbertson.  She was one of twelve siblings raised on the farm.

She loved to dance and always enjoyed beautiful flowers.  Despite never taking a music lesson, Dorothy could play anything by ear.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings in her home.  Dorothy and Albert were active members of the First Congregational Church in McCook.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 2013; her parents Roy and Hazel Stewart; brothers Cecil, Virgil, Donald, Roy and Orville Stewart; and sisters Beulah Miles and Martha Berns.
