Roselyn “Rose” Remington-Gall of Cambridge, NE passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Rose was born December 14th, 1954 in McCook Nebraska. Rose was the second oldest of nine children to the late Alden and Catherine (McConville) Remington. Rose grew up in McCook and attended St Patrick’s School and Parish. She graduated from McCook High School in 1973.
In pursuit of her dream to become a physician, Rose completed her degrees from McCook Community College, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and finally her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1980. Upon completing her family-medicine residency in Canton, Ohio, Rose returned to Nebraska to establish her practice in Schuyler.
It was during this time in Schuyler, when Rose met the love of her life, Michael “Mike” Gall from the nearby town of Clarkson on a trail ride with friends. On July 2, 1988, they were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Schuyler. Rose and Mike welcomed their three children: Matthew (1989), Noelle (1990) and Jillianne (1992).
Rose touched the lives and hearts of many through her work as a family practice physician in Schuyler, Columbus and most recently McCook. Through her role as a physician she welcomed countless new lives into the world and was a well-respected provider of the medical community. Despite a breast cancer diagnosis in 2016, she continued to practice until her illness forced her to retire earlier this year. She will forever be remembered for her strength and desire to serve others without complaint or worry of herself. In addition to her passion of caring for her patients, Rose was an avid bookworm, gardener and animal lover. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time on the farm, surrounded by her family and her animals.
Rose is survived by her husband Mike, and their three children: Matt (Morgan) Gall of Cambridge, Noelle Gall of Lincoln, Jill (Trace) Murray of Rapid City, SD and her beloved grandchildren: Knoxon and Brayze; her siblings: Roy Remington, Bonnie (Jim) Schwartz, Carolyn (Rocky) Stone, Noreen (Bruce) Colby-Merritt, Rhonda Remington, Sharilyn Remington, Chris (Bill) Lawrence; in-laws: George and Henrietta Gall, Dave (Deb) Gall, Doris (Jeff) Doerneman, Lisa (Tony) Drueppel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
