Edmond “Hoppy” Casida of Goddard, KS passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Wichita, KS.
Ed was born on October 8, 1939 in Clayton, New Mexico to Albert E. and Pauline L. (Jung) Casida. Ed graduated from Norton Community High School in 1957.
He married the love of his life, Judy (Gallentine) Casida on March 28, 1960. Together they had two sons, Bill and Ron; 5 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Ed was a long-time employee of Big A Auto Parts and Carquest Auto Parts in Norton, Goodland, KS and then McCook, NE. He was also a member of the McCook Evangelical Free Church. Ed was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed life to the fullest and touched many lives. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Pauline Casida; brother, Ken Casida; sister, Kay Draper; wife, Judy Casida; and son, Bill Casida.
Ed is survived by his son, Ron Casida of Goddard; brother, Paul Casida of CA; sisters, Joyce (Billy) Fitzgarld of IA and Barbara Walkey of CO. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2019 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends.
Funeral services will also be held at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook, on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 am with Pastor Bruce Lester, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Clayton Cemetery in Clayton, Kansas.
