Edward Thomas McArthur

Edward Thomas McArthur, age 86, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Community Hospital of McCook.
On January 15, 1931 Edward was born in Riverview, Pennsylvania to parents Edward and Beatrice (Griffiths) McArthur.
Edward proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. It was during this time that he met and married the love of his life, Betty J. Hite on January 21, 1960 while stationed in Seattle, Washington.
Following 20 years of Honorable Service to his Country, Edward retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1966. Moving to Stratton, NE in 1974, Edward settled into retirement with the love of his life, Betty. Fishing in the area lakes and spending time with his cats were some of Edward’s favorite pastimes.
Edward is survived by his wife, Betty of the home in Stratton; as well as his adopted family, Joel and Ronnie Richardson also of Stratton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Edith.
Private Memorial Services were held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE.
