Elsie Ruth Detragiache-Bishop

Elsie Ruth (Mitchem) Detragiacke Bishop, age 100, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the McCook Community Hospital.

Elsie was born in McCook on May 3, 1913 to Florence E. (Bales) Mitchem and Alonzo M. Mitchem. She attended McCook High School and North Platte Community College.

Elsie married Frank Detregiacke in 1932 in Sterling, CO, he passed away in 1976. She married Delbert Bishop on January 12, 1977 in North Platte, NE, he passed away in 1984.

She attended the First Congregational Church in McCook. She worked as a tax preparer, LPN and a caregiver. She was on the committee that selected the sculptures along Interstate 80. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making Barbie doll clothes, collecting dolls, but mostly spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; husbands, Frank Detragiacke and Delbert Bishop; her son, Stanley F. and his wife, Mary F. Detra.

Survivors are her grandchildren, Randall Detra of Vancouver, WA, Debra Yakel of Gainesville, MO, and a great grandson Sean Yakel; nieces and nephews, Luanne and Jim DeVoll of Tekamah, NE, Fred Wright of Osceola, NE, Bob and Laurie Wright of Pueblo, CO, Jerry and Shirley Wright and Donna Cole all of Osceola, NE and their families; also the families of their sister, the late Sharon Goscha; cousins from the Bales and Mitchem families, especially Margie Brown, Sherry Hornkohl, Floyd Bales; and other relatives, friends, and extended family.

Memorials are suggested to the Donor's choice.

Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with Rev. Steve Bales, officiating. Gravesides services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Floral Lawns Cemetery in North Platte, NE.
