Fredonna “Donna” Lee Ruppert, age 89, of McCook, NE passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

Donna was born October 18, 1932 in McCook to parents Fred Clarence and Ruth Lillian (Bauer) Swanson.  She was one of two siblings who attended grade school in Frontier County and graduated from McCook High School with the Class of 1950.  Her education commenced at the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, and McCook Junior College.

On May 27, 1952, Donna married Otis Dale Ruppert at the Garden Prairie Church, Quick, NE.  Donna and Dale were the proud parents of three sons, Duane, David and Daryl.  She was a mother, homemaker, teacher and farm wife.  Donna was a full-time partner on their farm, working alongside Dale and their three sons.  She faithfully attended her children and grandchildren’s events, whether it be a baseball game or a horseshow.

In 1980, Donna joined Mary Kay Cosmetic Company as an independent beauty consultant in McCook and the surrounding areas.  She was instrumental in helping other consultants start their businesses in Texas, Oregon, Washington and other states.  She retired from Mary Kay on September 1, 2009 having made many new friends and great memories.

Donna was a member of the McCook Evangelical Free Church.

Donna was preceded in death by her infant sister, Irma Della; her parents; husband, Dale Ruppert; son, Daryl Ruppert and daughter in law, Darla Ruppert.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Duane (Jane) Ruppert of Ogallala, NE and Dave Ruppert of McCook; grandson, Dylan (Jessie) Ruppert of Curtis, NE and their children, Sterling and Quincie; brother, Clarence Larry (Donna) Swanson of McCook; along with countless nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
