Gary L Hedke

Gary L. Hedke, age 80, of Trenton, NE passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Community Hospital in McCook.

Gary was born March 19, 1939 in McCook to parents Floyd Albert and Wauneta Beth (Preecs) Hedke.  He was one of five children born to this union.  Gary attended school in Trenton, graduating from Trenton High School with the Class of 1957.

Gary married Joyce (Heble) Hedke on November 17, 1958 in Atwood, KS.  The couple was blessed with three children: Justine, Kurt and Alesha.  Joyce passed away in 1986.

Over the years, Gary worked at a sandpit, farming and as the manager of several grain elevators.  His favorite pastimes included fishing and flying in his airplane.  Gary loved getting together for family gatherings and was especially fond of all the wonderful food there was to share.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and the Kentucky Derby, and was also an avid football fan.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Hedke; brother, Mack Hedke; sister, Gayle Fish; granddaughter, Andrea Jorschumb; and brother in law, Frank Kamp.

Those left to celebrate his life include his children, Justine Richardson of Stratton, NE, Kurt (Penny) Hedke of Crestview, FL and Alesha Hedke of McCook; two sisters, Sharon Kamp of Deposit, NY and Floy Graham of Atlantic, IA; grandchildren; Hope, Keenan, Nicole, Austin, Kyle and Krista and great-grandchildren; Mason, Maddox, Layne, Avery, Autumn, Hunter, Savannah, Blake, Macy and Emma and a host of extended family members and friends.
