Gary L. Scott

Gary Lavern Scott, age 71 passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Community Hospital of McCook.
Gary was born on February 18, 1944 to Russell B. and Rosa (Dugan) Scott in Sutherland, NE.
On July 9, 1962 he married Elsie Cook of Riverdale. To this union three children were born.
His work career included several jobs involved with construction and trucking.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and mechanical work.
Survivors include Elsie of Indianola; daughter, Amber Gleason and husband, Rick of Palisade; son, Kerry Scott and wife, JoHanna of McCook; step children, Kevin Reiners and wife, Kate of Elwood, Alissa Papiernick and husband, Adam of Ord; mother, Rosa Baker of Kearney; sister, Beverly Edson and husband, Bob of Elm Creek; brothers, Kirk Scott of Kearney, Robert Meyers of Colorado; sisters, Debra Scott, Karen Keith and Shelley Baker Brandt all of Kearney; step-brothers, Steve Cool of Grand Island, Mike Cool of Amherst; step sister, Marsha Cool of Hawaii; seven grandchildren, eight step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bryon and father, Russell.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on February 8, 2016 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Terry McCorkle officiating. Private family inurnment at a later date.
Memorials may be given in his name.
