Biography

Idalene Ruth Egan, 98, of McCook, died on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She was born January 20, 1907 in Granville, Missouri to George and Ida (Mitts) Martin.

She married William Grant Egan on May 2, 1925, at Oberlin, Kansas. To this union one son, Robert, was born. They made their home in McCook where they were owners and operators of a plumbing business.

She enjoyed going to the Senior Center. She lived at Willowridge Retirement Center for 10 years before moving to Hillcrest in May.

She was preceded in death by her husband William in 1976; her parents; two sisters, Wilma Yost and Velma Horn.

Survivors include her son Robert Egan and wife, Joan, of Lakewood, Colorado; and one grandson, Thomas Egan and wife, Lauren, of Broomfield, CO.

Memorials can be given in her memory to Willowridge Retirement Center.

Services were at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in McCook, on Wednesday, July 13, 2005, with the Rev. Sam Williams officiating. Burial took place at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
