James Clyde Dawson

James Clyde Dawson, age 82, of McCook, NE passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Hillcrest Caring Center in McCook.

Jim was born December 6, 1938 in Collbran, Colorado to parents James and Mary (Thompson) Dawson.  Jim grew up on the family farm before moving to Clifton, CO in 1949.  He attended school in Grand Junction, CO graduating from Central High School with the Class of 1957.

Jim married Lynda (Williams) Dawson in 1967 and was the proud father of two sons, Shawn and Randy.  He began his career in the Uranium Mines in 1960.  In 1973, Jim moved to Denver, CO to work for B & N Railroad.  After twenty-seven years, Jim retired and moved to McCook.

Jim was a devoted Denver Broncos fan as well as a patriot who loved his country.  He enjoyed gardening and remodeling houses.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lynda Dawson; special friend, Dorothy Hopkins, and stepson Robbie Lee Young

Those left to celebrate his life include sons, Shawn and Randy Dawson, both of Grand Junction; stepsons, Mitchell Young of Grand Junction; and his three grandchildren, Heather Young, Anthony Dawson and Shawnda Dawson.  Also surviving are extended family members and friends.
