James "Jim" Daniel Lemon of McCook, NE, passed away at McCook Community Hospital on August 16, 2026, at the age of 82.

Jim was born in Davenport, Iowa to parents Melvin M. and Blanche A. (Simpson) Lemon on January 22, 1944. He was one of two children. Jim graduated from high school with the class of 1962.

Jim married Carol A. Cook on August 8, 1988, in Aurora, CO. They were the proud parents of two daughters, Kimberly and Jennifer.

Over the years, Jim worked as a production manager for Hercules Industries, sheet metal manufacturer in Denver, CO. He enjoyed golfing and fishing in his free time. He was an avid fan of many sports teams and could be found cheering them on in every season. He was especially fond of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, the Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, University of Michigan football, and Detroit Tigers.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; in laws, Moris and Marcella Cook; daughter, Kimberly Maum; grandson, Riley Preece; and brother-in-law, Steven Cook.

Those left to celebrate Jim’s life is his beloved wife Carol Lemon of McCook, NE; daughter, Jennifer (Shane) Preece of North Platte, NE; son in law, Leon Maum of McCook, NE; sister, Barbara Robinson of Indiana; brother in laws, William Cook of Houston, TX and Ken (Tracy) Cook of Tampa, FL; sister in law, Janine Cook also of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Josephine, Madison, Kassidee, Gwendalyn, Emerson; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
