Jesse D. Jones, age 74, of Palisade, NE passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at Community Hospital in McCook, NE.

Jesse was born February 6, 1945 in Dresden, KS to parents Jesse Roller and Dorothy (Mowry) Jones.  He was one of five children born to this union. Jesse grew up in Dresden, where he also attended high school.

Following high school, Jesse served his country in the United States Army.  He entered on March 6, 1964 and was honorably discharged on March 3, 1967.

On August 28, 1967 Jesse married the love of his life, Linda K. (Wickizer) Jones in McCook, NE. The couple was blessed with four children: sons, Tracy, Shannon, and Toby and daughter Tonya, who died in infancy.

Jesse worked as a lineman for Southwest Public Power for over thirty years.  Following his retirement, he worked for the Village of Palisade.  Jesse enjoyed playing golf, fishing, pheasant hunting and playing cards.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Tonya Jones; and one sister, Maxine Wickizer.

Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Linda Jones, of the home in Palisade; three sons, Tracy (Kim) Jones of Moorcroft, WY, Shannon (Jill) Jones of Kearney, NE and Toby Jones of Palisade; brother Robert Jones of Jennings, KS; two sisters, Carla Lattimer of Jennings and Mary Beth Hanna of OR; as well as seven grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Kian, Ali, Hunter, Scoutt and Larkyn, one great grandchild Drezdan and numerous nieces nephews and extended family members.

A Graveside Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 11AM on Thursday, April 25, 2019 in the Palisade Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be designated to the Palisade Veteran’s Wall Memorial, P.O. Box281 Palisade, NE 69040 or the Palisade Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 263, Palisade, NE 69040.
