Jewell Lee (Judy) Bair passed away at the age of 86 on December 4, 2025, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Nebraska. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Judy was born in Independence, Missouri on March 11, 1939, to parents Robert and Berneice (Rice) Maxon. She graduated with the class of 1957 from William Chrisman High School.
Judy married Richard D. (Doc) Bair on June 16, 1957, in Independence, Missouri. The couple was blessed with two sons, Robert and Bruce. They were married for 60 years until Richard’s passing in 2018.
Judy’s faith in Jesus Christ was first and foremost in her life. She lovingly shared her faith in word and deed. She was a member of the McCook Christian Church and E-Free Church.
Judy loved her family and was very proud of her two sons. She hosted many tea parties and sewing sessions for her grandchildren. She was a talented artist who loved oil painting, quilting, and china painting. She created the stained-glass windows at the McCook E-Free Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and brother Gary Maxon.
Those left to celebrate Judy’s life are her sons, Robert (Robin) Bair of Hudson, IA and Bruce (Susy) Bair of Culbertson, NE; twelve grandchildren, Sarah (Ben) Moul, Rachael Bair, Elizabeth Bair, Jessica Jo (Elias) Bair, Matthew (Kelsey) Bair, Jeremiah (Katee) Bair, Raymond (Jordann) Sullivent, Veronica Bair, Elisha (Felicity) Bair, Teresa Kathleen Bair, Xyzanthia Bair and Sincere Bair; nine great grandchildren; brothers Robert (Agnes) Maxon Jr., Mike Maxon and Larry Maxon; sisters Susan Brown and Linda Brooks; sister-in-law Carol Maxon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
