John Charles Crosby, age 60, of McCook, NE passed away on July 2, 2021 in McCook.

John was born October 16, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas to parents James L. and Lola J. (Hankins) Crosby. He was one of 6 children. John graduated from East Central High School in San Antonio with the Class of 1978.

In John’s younger years he enjoyed bowling and hunting. He was employed by Cappel Farms for several years where he was able to enjoy farm life and working outdoors. He helped numerous kids in the area with demo derby cars over the years which earned him the nickname “Grandpa John”. John was a very selfless person who readily taught the next generation about cars and trucks.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his second wife, Mary.

Those left to celebrate his life are Sister, Chyrell (Maynard) Keeling of San Antonio, TX; sister Debra (Deb) Hardin and husband Hugh of San Antonio, TX; brother, Jimmy (BooBoo) Crosby and wife Naomi of Round Rock, TX; sister, Terri (DeeDee) Filippi and husband Steven of Converse, TX; brother, Jerry (Brat) Crosby of San Antonio, Tx; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends in the McCook Community.
