Larry K. Stone

Larry Kay Stone passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016.  He was 79 years old.

Larry was born on September 19, 1936 in McCook to Harry Valentine and Myrtle Blanche Belle (Bales) Stone.  Larry was the youngest of 11 children.

He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Coker in 1954 and divorced in 1984.

Larry was a Boy Scout leader and taught roller skating lessons when his children were younger.  He showed horses and enjoyed many hours with his children and grandchildren riding.

Larry loved to fish, camp and boat on the lake.  Many summers were spent living at the lake in the camper.  He loved to go to yard sales and working with his hands.  He played the guitar, he enjoyed singing and dancing.

He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Club and enjoyed riding his motorcycle to the east and the southeastern part of the United States and to Sturgis.

Before retirement Larry worked as a bricklayer.  Many homes and businesses in the area were built by Larry and his partner Gary Larreau.  After retirement he worked at Walmart and drove for Dashabout Shuttle.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Harry and Myrtle Stone; infant daughter, Janie Gaye Stone in 1956 and three still born infants; sisters, Norma, Alice, Mayla, Elffie, Nola, Laura, Clara; brothers, Lloyd, Dick and Roger; and great grandson, Oscar Dutcher.

Survivors include significant other, Trish Osborne of Kearney; children, Rocky Stone and wife, Carolyn, of Brighton, CO, Rebecca and husband, Jesse Dutcher, of McCook and Buck Stone of Trenton; grandchildren, Jeremy (Suzette) Dutcher of Culbertson, Joshua (Julie) Dutcher of Minturn, CO, Bethany (Tony) McKillip of McCook, Jason (Connie) Stone of McCook, Kyle Stone (fiancée Laura Colling) of Lincoln; Josey (Sally) Stone of Kansas City, KS, Elizabeth Stone (fiancé David Giron) of McCook and Seth Stone (fiancée, Carri Gigax) of Lincoln, step-grandchildren, James and Angie Mitchell of Brighton, CO, Mindy and Shaun O’Neil of Imperial; numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in his name.  Friends may send condolences online at www.carpenterbreland.com.  Larry chose cremation and did not want a service but there will be a family gathering on July 9, 2016 at the Dutcher home, 1705 West 2nd in McCook.
