Lee Ora Sines

Lee Ora Sines, age 93, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

She was born January 14, 1920 at Dresden, Kansas to Arthur and Blanche (Bartlett) Leist. She graduated from Decatur County High School, Oberlin, Kansas in 1938. She later attended Fort Hayes State College where she received her teaching certificate.

On April 5, 1942, Lee Ora was united in marriage to Gerald E. Sines in Osborne, Kansas. She taught in rural schools in Decatur County. She later became an integral part of her husband's trucking business for Zip Delivery and Bekins Moving in the capacity of bookkeeping as well as accompanying him on long haul deliveries.

Lee Ora was a member of First Assembly of God. She enjoyed collecting crystal, reading, sewing, and embroidery work,

Preceding her in death was her husband, Gerald Sines on March 10, 2010; parents, Arthur and Blanche Leist; sister, Carolyn Launchbaugh; and brother, Alvin Leist.

Survivors include sister-in-law, Carolyn and husband, Gary Leitner, of McCook; brother-in-law, George Launchbaugh of Dresden, KS; nephew, Steve Launchbaugh and wife, Kathy, of Dresden; niece, Carol Lee and husband, Mike Metro, of Salina, KS; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given in her name to First Assembly of God, 811 East C Street, McCook, NE 69001

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013, 1-8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 9, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Jamie Mockry and Rev. K.C. Harryman officiating. Burial will be in the Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, KS at 2:30 p.m.
