Lyle L. Ingersoll

Lyle Ingersoll, age 85, formally of Palisade, NE, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Bryan LGH in Lincoln, NE.

Lyle was born June 5, 1931 in Chappell, NE to parents Richard and Mildred E. (Dunham) Ingersoll.  He was one of four boys.  Growing up, Lyle attended school in Chappell, graduating from Life Bible College with the Class of 1955.

On August 18, 1946, Lyle married the love of his life, Barbara L. (Collins) Ingersoll in St. Francis, Kansas.  Lyle and Barbara married at a very young age, sneaking away to elope.  They recently celebrated 71 years of marriage.  The young couple made their home in Sidney, NE where they raised three sons.

Lyle was an ordained minister who loved the Lord and studying the Bible.  He pastored several churches throughout the years and very much enjoyed the fellowship of his congregations.  Lyle was a member of the Foursquare Church and later served as a Missionary on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.  In his spare time, he could be found fishing in one of the area lakes or sitting outside watching the birds.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his three brothers, Otis, Dale and Don Ingersoll.

Lyle is survived by his wife of 70 years, Barbara Ingersoll of Lincoln, NE; and his three sons, DeLos (Judy) Ingersoll of Ogallala, NE, Jerald Ingersoll of Lincoln and David (Peggy) Ingersoll also of Lincoln.  Lyle also leaves behind five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 1 to 8 PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook, NE.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, beginning at 1 PM in the Palisade Cemetery, Palisade with Rev. Larry Gouin officiating.

Memorials may be given in Lyle’s name for Missionary Work.
