Mardelle Yvonne Miller, age 86 of rural McCook, NE passed away on April 12, 2024 at Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE.
Mardelle was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1937 in Elwood, NE to parents Theodore and Elsie Emma (Schultz) Hilker. She was one of five children.
On September 29, 1953, Mardelle married Joseph E. Corey in Tucumcari, NM. The family made their home in McCook. Following Joseph’s death, Mardelle married Charles Miller on June 27, 1990 in McCook.
Mardelle was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in McCook. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and artistry. Mardelle was a gifted artist who created numerous blankets for her family over the years. She was featured on the cover of Women’s Circle Magazine two separate times, highlighting her creativity. Mardelle was also very musical. She played several different instruments but particularly enjoyed the trumpet.
Mardelle was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Joseph Corey; brothers, Roland Hilker, Carl Hilker and one brother in infancy; son, David Corey; daughter, Naomi Corey; three granddaughters, Stacy Schmidt, Sidney Robison and Andrea Fine; and a grandson, Billy Farr.
Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Charles Miller of rural McCook, NE; sons, Thomas (Nancy) Corey and Daniel (Millie) Corey, all of McCook, NE; daughters, Joan Corey of Hamlet, NE, Mary (John) Robison of Syracuse, NE, Rebecca (Dave) Seybold of rural Maxwell, NE and stepdaughter, Elizabeth (Bill) Slottag of Algonquin, IL; brothers, Lyle (Leona) Hilker of Oberlin, KS, Terry (Tammie) Hilker of McCook, NE and Ted Hilker of Trenton ,NE; sister, Connie (Bob) Quaduor of Danbury, NE; sisters in law Linda Hilker of McCook, NE, Marian Brugh of Portage, MI; brother in law, Paul Miller of Harris, MN ; grandchildren, Phil, Alyssa, Jessica, Jyl, Jeff, Mike, Heath, Megan, Burke, Brandon, James, Ciera, Kody, LaNessa, Cheyenne, Angelina, Savannah, Dallas, Charlie, Jack, Emmy and two step grandchildren, Heather and Caitlin; great grandchildren, Amie, Angie, Addison, Bryanna, Payton, Natalya, Everleigh, Olympia, Mari, Jazmine, Alaczander, Daphnie, Faliciti, Octavia, Lucy, Andrea, Kristen, Bethany, Lily, Genevieve, Jakob, Jeffrey, Jax, Tyler, Ethan, Hope, Ian, Rylie, Brooke, Chase, Kamber, Riley, Emilia, Tanner, Paisley, Austyn, Allen, Juniper and one on the way; great great grandchildren, Rhett and two on the way; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
