Maria Victoria "Toya" Rodriguez Ruiz passed away on July 23, 2025, in her home in West Point, NE, at the age of 52.

Maria was born to parents Reynaldo “Chapo” Rodriguez Sigala and Luz Elena Ruiz Villa in Chihuahua, Mexico on November 8, 1972. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to parties and working along with her sister Lucy.

In her later years, Maria enjoyed watching soccer, especially her favorite team, America. She loved playing with all the little kids in the family. Maria will be remembered for her jokes, her vibrant voice, and how she was a social butterfly.

Maria was preceded in death by her father Reynaldo “Chapo” Rodriguez.

Maria will be missed by her mother, Luz Elena Ruiz Villa of McCook, NE; partner, Miguel Flores of over 25 years of West Point, NE; sons, Edgar (Rebecca) Rodriguez of Hastings, NE, Erick Rodriguez of McCook, NE, Zoilo (Zulma) Flores of West Point, NE; 2 grandchildren; siblings, Zoilo (Manuela) Rodriguez of McCook, NE, Luz “Lucy” (Alonzo) Rodriguez of Wichita, KS, and Hilda (Jose) Rodriguez of Denver, CO; and a host of nephews, nieces, and extended family members.

A public visitation will be held on, Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11am-4:30pm, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook, NE.

There will be a recitation of the rosary at 4:30pm on Monday, July 28, 2025, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook, NE. Funeral mass will begin at 5 pm with Father Bernard Lorenz as celebrant. 

A private family burial will be held at a later date.
