Maureen Kay O'Neil

January 14, 1967 — August 18, 2013

Maureen Kay O'Neil blessed the world with her entrance on January 14, 1967. She was the tenth child of William Patrick and Catherine May (Boehm) O'Neil. She made it an even count of five boys and five girls. She was also the baby of the family and was loved immensely by her siblings. She passed away August 18, 2013 at her home in Grand Island at the age of 46 years.

Maureen attended St. Patrick's Schools, Central Elementary, and McCook Jr. and Sr. High Schools graduating in 1985.

After her graduation Maureen lived in North Platte working at Nebraska State Bank and Kelley Scritsmier Law Firm. Then, she moved to Grand Island where she worked as the Sales Coordinator at Heartland Ag. She relocated to Denver and spent six years at Parts Inc. She then moved back to Grand Island and was the office manager at Tri City Cycle.

Maureen enjoyed traveling with her mom and sisters, kayaking, skiing, shelling at the ocean, countless days at the lake and Husker Football. Her memory will live on for those who loved her. Maureen lit up a room when she entered it. She loved everyone she met along the way in her short life. Her friends knew her best as "MO".

Preceding her in death were her father, William; three brothers, Daniel and Thomas O'Neil and infant Joseph O'Neil; and three great-nephews.

She leaves behind her mother, Katie O'Neil; her sisters, Peggy (Dick) Rogers of Grant, Patty O'Neil of Denver, CO, Rosemary (George) Dack of East Helena, MT, and Anna (Alan) Carlson of Johnstown, CO; her two brothers, Timothy O'Neil of Phoenix, AZ and Dennis O'Neil of McCook; daughter-in-law, Marilyn and husband, Bernie Walz, of McCook; and best friend Karen Doyle of McCook. She also leaves behind her dog, Casey, and her cat, Sam.

She dearly loved her fourteen nieces and nephews, Bridget, Joshua, Shos, Nick, Maggie, Emily, Kyle, Clinton, Dylan, Luke, Matthew, Sam, Katie Belle, and Kobi.

Memorials may be given in her name.
