Mildred R. Mustion, age 96, of Minden, NE, formerly of McCook, NE passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Bethany Home in Minden surrounded by her family.

Mildred was born March 17, 1923 in Avoca, NE to parents N.F. and Edith L. (Nutter) Horn.  She was one of four children born to the union. The family later relocated to McCook where Mildred attended school, graduating from McCook High School with the Class of 1941.  She then went on to attend McCook Community College where she obtained her teaching certificate.  She taught school for six years north of Indianola, NE.

On June 8, 1947, Mildred married the love of her life, Roy Cecil Mustion in McCook.  The couple made their home in Indianola until 1963 when they moved to the McCook community.  They were the proud parents of four children: Richard, Margaret, Jean and Barbara.

Mildred and Roy were founding members of McCook Christian Church where Mildred enjoyed teaching Sunday School, leading Women’s Bible Study and assisting with women’s ministry. They were also members of the Good Sam Camping Club.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bryon, Louis and Melvin; one granddaughter, Angelica Petersen; and daughter in law, Linda Mustion.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband of 72 years, Roy Mustion of Minden; son Richard Mustion of Hershey, NE; three daughters, Margaret (Neal) Hauxwell of McCook, Jean (Richard) Hester and Barbara (Brian) Petersen all of Minden; 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and a host of other extended family members and close friends.
