Nelda Ruth Gull

Nelda Ruth Gull, age 86, departed this life Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her home in McCook, NE, with her family by her side.

Nelda was born August 1, 1929 on the family farm south of Indianola, NE to John Rollie and Ruth Florence (Nickerson) Smith.   She attended school in Indianola, graduating with the class of 1946.

On September 26, 1946, Nelda married Jack Duane Gull at the First Christian Church in McCook. The couple was blessed with five children.

Nelda enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a caregiver for many people in her family throughout the years.

Nelda was a member of the B.L.F. & E. Auxiliary as well as the First Christian Church in McCook.  She worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney and A & M Drug Store for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Duane Gull; infant twin sons, Larry Dean and Gary Duane Gull; infant twin sisters; sister, Lois E. (Smith) Cafferty; brother, Richard L. Smith.

Survivors include her sons, John (Linda) Gull and Randy Gull, all of McCook; daughter, Karron (Steven) Curtis of Floral City, FL; sisters-in-law, Genevieve (Gull) Hulse of Shalimar, FL and Bettie Gull of McCook; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook from 1 to 8 PM.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 beginning at 2 PM, also at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, with Pastor Clark Bates, officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook.
