Nina Mae Woodruff

Nina Mae (Bolles) Woodruff, age 84, of Chandler, Arizona passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at her home in Chandler.

Nina was born June 9, 1933 in Cairo, NE to parents Francis and Alice (Ooley) Bolles.  Nina grew up in a large family.  She and her sister were one of three sets of twins amongst ten children.  Nina attended school in Wood River, NE, graduating from Wood River High School with the class of 1950.  She then went on to further her education at Grand Island Business School.

On August 8, 1954, Nina married the love of her life, Robert E. (Woody) Woodruff in Grand Island, NE.  The family was blessed with three children and later relocated to McCook, NE.  Over the years Nina was employed by numerous businesses, some of which included Wheelers, WEW, and the local ASCS Office.  Toward the end of her career, Nina opened her own crop insurance agency, the Nina Woodruff Agency, which she owned and operated for more than fifteen years before her retirement.

Nina lived most of her life in McCook while raising her family.  Following the loss of her husband Woody in 1989, Nina relocated to Lakeland, Florida in 1995.  2003 brought yet another move for Nina, this time to Arizona where she was residing at the time of her death.

Nina was a member of the Methodist faith, and also enjoyed reading, family time, playing cards, fishing, baseball, and an occasional gambling trip.

Nina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert E. Woodruff; two brothers, Dougie and Louis Bolles; brothers in law, Gordon Ruzicka and Robert Bruhn; and sisters in law, Norma, Ruth, Sandy and Deanna Bolles.

Nina is survived by two daughters, Terri Smith of Lakeland, FL and Sharon and husband Tony Bennett of McCook; son, David and wife Deann Woodruff of Chandler, AZ;  twin sister, Nita Ruzicka of Grand Island; five brothers, Rand and wife Barbara Bolles of Kansas City, MO, Willard Bolles of Nevada, Garry and wife Pauline Bolles, Larry Bolles and Janie, and Dwight Bolles all of Grand Island; sister, Linda and husband Kenny Lauritson of Dannebrog, NE; seven grandchildren, Kisha and husband Chris Whetton, Joshua and husband Brian Bennett, Nate and wife Heather Bennett, Amanda Bennett, Zachary Smith, Lindsey Woodruff, and Bailey Woodruff; four great grandchildren, Teagan and Jack Whetton, Ella Rucker, and Asher Bennett; two sisters in law, Norma Bolles and Shirley Bruhn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM until the time of the service at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook.

A funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 AM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery also located in McCook.
