Norma Lee Denny, age 94, of McCook, NE passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at her home in McCook surrounded by her family.

Norma was born on June 16, 1927 in Rising Sun, IN to Earnest and Gertrude (Hoffner) Raker.  She attended school in Rising Sun, graduating from Rising Sun Indiana High School in 1945.

Norma married James Denny on August 27, 1949 in Rising Sun.  To this union two children were born.

Norma loved life and family. She was a homemaker and school teacher, and loved working alongside her husband, Jim, in the ministry for 46 years.  During that time, they lived in West Virginia, New York, Arizona, Oklahoma and Nebraska when Jim began pastoring the First Baptist Church, McCook, in 1989, retiring in 1995.

Norma enjoyed playing the piano, crafts, crocheting, gardening and bird watching.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Denny.

Norma is survived by two children, son Mark and wife, Judy Denny of Lawrence, KS and daughter, Sandra and husband, Butch Robertson of Verden, OK; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hobbs, Kristina and Dan Sink and Jennifer and Drew Diedel; seven great grandchildren, Isaac, Oliver, Wyatt, Riley, Alyssa, Erick and Hayden.
