Norma "Jeanie" Jean Doyle

Norma Jean "Jeanie" Doyle passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old.

Jeanie was born on July 17, 1933 at Herndon, Kansas to parents, Otto Merton and Ruby Irene (Parker) Stinnette. She graduated from Herndon High School as Valedictorian of her class in 1951.

On June 12, 1952 she was united in marriage to Floyd Bales in McCook. To this union five children were born, Pam, Steve, Randy, Robin and Tom. The family moved to the East coast where Jeanie was a busy homemaker and mother and worked for the Educational Testing Services in Ewing, New Jersey. They later returned to the McCook community in 1973 where she worked for Gibson's and later in Quality Control for Dayco.

Jeanie loved to sing and whistle, read, and cook for her family. In recent years she became an avid Husker and Denver Bronco Football fan. She had a passion for all animals especially her canine pet, Snowie.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Otto and Ruby Stinnette; daughter, Robin Elaine Seabrook; granddaughter, Shanna Lynn Bales; and sister, Audrey Gish.

Survivors include her children, Pam and husband, Ronald Foight, of Beaver City, NE, Rev. Steve Bales and wife, Denise, of McCook, Randy Bales and wife, Cari, of McCook, and Tom Bales and wife, Sheila, of Nebraska City; sons-in-law, Rory Cook of La Junta, CO and Michael Seabrook of Rio Rancho, NM ; four sisters, Ruby Ann Morris of Mount Rose, PA, Virginia Fikan of Englewood, CO, Gloria and husband, Norval Phelps, of Atwood, KS and Linda Erdmier of Dixon, IL; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; a host of relatives and friends; and dedicated caregivers, Rebecca Gordine of McCook and Connie Downey of Indianola.

Memorials may be given in her name to the McCook Humane Society.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 21, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Bales officiating. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
