Ralph Vernon Goltl, age 86, of McCook, NE passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Community Hospital in McCook.

Ralph was born February 2, 1933 in Herndon, KS to parents Paul and Juanita (Buk) Goltl.  He was one of three brothers who grew up on the family farm near the Nebraska Kansas Border.  Ralph attended school in Herndon, graduating from Herndon High School with the Class of 1950.

In 1953, Ralph was drafted into the United States Army.  He proudly served his country from 1953 to 1955, during the Korean Conflict, before his honorable discharge.  It was also during this time that Ralph married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Marilyn R. After his Military Service, Ralph went to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad.  The railroad provided for Ralph’s family, but his true passion was farming and breaking and training horses which he had done since he was a boy and continued to do his entire life.

Proceeding Ralph in death were his parents; wife, Marilyn Goltl in 2005; grandson, Nathan Rouse; and sister in law, Dixie Goltl.
