Richard A. Simants Jr.

Richard A. Simants, Jr, age 64, of Palisade, NE passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Community Hospital in McCook, NE.

Richard was born April 3, 1957 in San Diego, CA to parents Richard A. and Elizabeth Ann (Wells) Simants, Sr.  He was one of three children born to this union.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was a member of the local VFW and his hobbies included fishing and camping.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to celebrate his life include his siblings, Patty (Gary) Hanken of McCook, NE and Dan (Heather) Simants of Fairbanks, AK; nieces and nephews, Josh Simants, Dennis (Kristin) Decker Jr, Randy Decker, James (Renee) Baxter and Rebecca Baxter; great nieces and nephews, Trace Decker, Mia Decker, Khaliah Granillo, Elina Decker and Drew Baxter; uncle, Bob (Marlane) Wells; aunt, Carol Wurzer; and extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Palisade Volunteer Fire Department, 109 South Main, Palisade, NE 69040.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Palisade Cemetery, Palisade.
