Robert E. Sitzman, age 73, of Culbertson, NE passed on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Great Plains Hospital in North Platte, NE.
Bob was born August 14, 1952, in McCook, NE to parents Henry “Curly” and Anita M. (Taul) Sitzman, Jr. He was one of three siblings and attended school in Culbertson, graduating high school with the Class of 1970. Bob then went on to attend McCook Community College, earning an associate of arts degree in business.
Throughout his life Bob enjoyed being in the outdoors. Whether it was trap shooting, target shooting, hunting quail and pheasants, fishing or golfing, Bob loved nature. His Brittany Spaniel dogs were his constant companions and best hunting buddies. In 2004, Bob was the Work Ethic Camp’s Employee of the Year. He also served on the Culbertson City Counsel for over 20 years. Bob was a member of the Methodist Church in Culbertson as well as a Pheasants Forever Member.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to celebrate his life include his two sisters, Jeanne (Mark) Findley of Loveland, CO and Kimberly (Steven) Peake of Elkhorn, NE; two nieces, Regan Peake and Andrea (Tyler) Trostel; four nephews, Noah Peake, Zachary (Nicole) Pettit, Brian (Deena) Pettit and Ryan (Elizabeth) Findley; and fifteen great nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to McCook Gun Club for youth gun education, Box 524, McCook, NE 69001; OR to the family for a bench in Culbertson in his honor. He always had numerous people during the 4th of July parade watch from the front of his home.
