Roberta Ruth Miner Menges

Roberta Ruth Miner Menges, age 95 passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

Roberta was born June 15, 1921 in Cambridge, NE to Orva B. and Josephine F. (Heitman) Trosper.

Roberta married Glen Miner in McCook on June 26, 1941, to this union four children were born.  He passed away January 16, 1966.  She married Bill Menges on January 25, 1969 in McCook.  He passed away February 16, 2000.

She was a waitress for many years at Larry’s Café in McCook.  She also worked as a dental assistant for many years, later she worked at Sehnert’s Bakery until her retirement.

Roberta loved needle work, crocheting and embroidery, she enjoyed square dancing club and working in her yard and flowers.

Roberta is survived by her sons, Lonnie Miner of Hastings and Ron (Charlene) Miner of Lexington; daughters, Bonnie (Richard) Nelson of Ceresco and Connie Miner of McCook; brothers, Fred Trosper of Cambridge and Wren  (Lu) Trosper of Arapahoe; sisters, Mildred Farr of Kearney and Donna Weir of Cambridge, Joyce Boyer of Smith Center, KS, Ardis Lorimer of McCook, Dixie (Swede) Swanson of Curtis; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen Miner and Bill Menges; son, Gerald, brother, Gary Trosper; and sister, Geneva Fuller.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Bales officiating.   Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.
