Roger C. Dickerson passed away at Hillcrest Nursing Home, McCook, NE on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the age of 87.

Roger was born in Wauseon, OH on October 16, 1938, to parents Earl and Velma Dickerson. He grew up in Ohio and graduated from Wauseon High School with the class of 1956.

Roger married Rosemary “Rose” Brock on April 9, 1960, in Ohio. From this union, three sons were born: Jeffery, Joseph, and Andrew. Rose and Roger moved to Phoenix, AZ, shortly after their marriage, where they resided for four years. They then lived in Tempe, AZ, for 32 years, and in Prescott, Ariz, for eight years. They moved to McCook in 2005 where Roger was a deacon for the 1st Congregational Church. Roger and Rose were together for 60 wonderful years until her passing in June of 2020.

In his professional life, Roger worked in construction. He was a master craftsman in plastering, dry wall, and painting. He paid attention to details and created elaborate plastered designs.

Roger was a work horse and always had something to do. He loved collecting and refurbishing tractors. He even won the Palisade parade with his tractor. He gave back to the community by making ice cream during the summer around the local parks.

Roger will be remembered for being a cherished friend and a go-getter.

Roger is preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosemary “Rose” Dickerson; parents; sons, Joseph Dickerson and infant Andrew Dickerson; siblings, Bob Dickerson, Lowell Dickerson, Bertha, and Alta.

Those left to celebrate Roger’s life are his son Jeffery (Kim Roberts) Dickerson of McCook, NE; sister JoAnn of Arizona; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to donor’s choice in Roger’s name.
