Roy T. Remington, a beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away at the age of 68 in his home in Culbertson, NE on January 4, 2026.

Roy was born in McCook, NE at St. Catherines to parents Alden and Catherine (McConville) Remington. He was one of nine siblings. Roy attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and graduated from McCook High School. In his younger years, Roy and his brother Ron were two peas in a pod always going on adventures and hunting.

In his professional life, Roy worked in lawncare, mowing lawns for D and S and installing sprinkler systems. Roy had a green thumb and was always caring for his garden, houseplants, and fruit trees. He enjoyed hunting deer and pheasants. Roy’s family members would mistake him for a meteorologist for how much he enjoyed tracking and talking about the weather; he even had 5 different weather apps. Roy was a good historian and kept up to date on the Remington genealogy.

Roy will be remembered for his big heart and his love of nature. He loved his family and friends and was always in seventh heaven visiting them.

Those left to celebrate Roy’s life are his sisters, Bonnie Remington-Schwartz of Danbury, NE, Carolyn (Rocky) Stone of Brighton, CO, Noreen Colby of Trenton, NE, Rhonda Remington of Inavale, NE, Sharilyn Remington (Sean Werth) of Red Boiling Springs, TN, and Chris (Bill) Lawrence of St. Mary’s, GA; brother-in-law Mike Gall of Columbus, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Remington, sister Roselyn Remington, brother-in-law Doug Colby, and niece Alisha Browder.
