Sharon G. Andrew

Sharon G. Andrew of Palisade age 72 Entered into eternal life on Friday May 6th 2016 at Sunrise Heights in Wauneta Nebraska surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was born August 2nd 1943 at the family's home in south Palisade to Francis M. and Mildred O. (Weston) Andrew

Sharon's entire school career through graduating in 1962 was in Palisade.  After school Sharon worked for her parents in their cafe's in Palisade and Stratton, until she moved to Kearney to further her culinary career. In 1984 she received her nursing assistant certificate she began her life long career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Heritage of Wauneta, and El Dorado Manor until her retirement.

Sharon was also lifelong member of VFW Auxiliary 7028.

After retirement Sharon spent time at her home in Palisade enjoying her free time gardening.

Holidays were among Sharon's favorite times of the year was when she got a chance to show off her extraordinary culinary skills by making delicious pies and candies for all of the family to enjoy,  while always keeping her recipes a guarded family secret. Sharon also loved any time she got to spend with family and friends.

Sharon was baptized along side of her mother Mildred into the Church of Christ in Palisade.

Sharon is survived by brother James, and wife Pearl Andrew of Palisade; brother Albert, and wife Janet Andrew of North Platte; and sister Karen Steinbeck of Palisade; as well numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her sister Kay Andrew; father Francis Andrew; mother Mildred (Weston) Andrew; brother Ivan Andrew; brother in law Pete Steinbeck; niece Rose (Andrew) Christner; and niece Kathy (Andrew) Hamilton.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 1 to 8 PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook, NE.

Graveside services will be Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. CT at the Palisade Cemetery with Pastor Randy Hayes, officiating with burial to follow.

Memorials may be given in her name to the VFW Auxiliary 7028 P.O. Box 281, Palisade, NE 69040.
