Clara A. Dunn

Clara A. Dunn, age 80, of Indianola, NE passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Tri Valley Health Systems in Cambridge, NE.

Clara was born on September 30, 1942, to parents Rush and Clara (Alston) Ledbetter in Petaluma, California. Clara’s father was in the military, so Clara grew up in many places like California, Minnesota, Colorado, and even England. She graduated high school with the class of 1960 from Petaluma High School, CA. Later in her life, she achieved her certificate in computer sciences.

Clara married Harvey L. Dunn, in Golden, Colorado on April 16, 1971. Together they raised eight children. Clara enjoyed creating her photo albums and scrapbooks, tending to her flower gardens, sharing her bible studies, and reading a good book. Clara loved her pets, and her favorite vacation spot was Branson, Missouri

Clara was very involved at the Evangelical Free Church where she was the librarian and a small group leader. She supported many ministries and missionaries. Her tenacious love for the Lord has touched many hearts and led many people to the church. Clara will be remembered for being civic-minded, a prayer warrior, and patriotic.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and a great granddaughter, Emersyn Heimann.

Those left to celebrate her life is her husband Harvey Dunn of Indianola, NE; sons, Mike (Kristy) Head of Blue Hill, NE, Harvey Lee (Susan) Dunn of Atlanta, GA, Robert (Traci) Dunn of Bartow, FL; daughters, Patty (Mark) Brown of McCook, NE, Dianna (Jim) Everitt of Mulino, OR, Debra Smith of Portland, OR, Debbie (Jack) Phister of Lusk, WY, and Vernetta Short of Lusk, WY; sisters, Carol (Tom) Sorensen of Aloha, OR, Barb (Daley) Scott of Grants Pass, OR, and Norma Lund of Lakeland, FL; treasured lifelong friend and sister, Sharon Huegel of McCook, NE; 18 grandkids and 29 great-grandkids; and several family members and friends.
