Lois Margaret Tiller

Lois M. Tiller passed away at Hillcrest on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the age of 86.

Lois was born January 21, 1937, at McCook, NE. She lived her first six years with her parents on a farm northwest of McCook. Lois attended one year of school at District 65 Red Willow County. In 1943, her family moved to a farm in Frontier County where she attended District 58 through 7th grade. She graduated 12th grade from Red Willow consolidated school.

 She went three years of McCook College summer school and taught for three years at District 33 Frontier County. She was a teacher’s aide for 23 years at District 41 Red Willow County. Her years teaching and watching children grow was her delight. She enjoyed her garden and sewing, and volunteering at the museum. After 27 years of living on the farm with her husband George, they moved to McCook in 1984.

Lois was an active member of Designing Women Club and the First Congregational Church.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George Tiller; brother, Robert; two sisters, Dorothy (Jim) Real and Eleanor (Bill) Day.

Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Jeff Tiller of Lincoln, NE and Nancy Ridlen of Mullen, NE; five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
