Mary "Nadean" Stoney passed away in Cozad, NE on June 27, 2023, at the age of 92.
Nadean was born on September 20, 1930, to parents William and Mamie (Fiala) Jennings. She graduated Decatur County High School with the class of 1948. That same year, she married the love of her life Edward Harold on September 30. They made their home in Oberlin, KS and then later to Indianola, NE where they fed America by farming. Together, Edward and Nadean were blessed with their seven children: Jerry, Jane, Joyce, Janet, Julie, Jody, and infant daughter that passed, Edna Jean.
After Edward’s passing in 1994, Nadean moved into her mother’s house in Oberlin, KS. She worked at TRW and then later enjoyed cooking at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
Nadean created beautiful work with her sewing and quilting skills. She enjoyed gardening and loved dancing, especially Polka. She was a devoted member of the St. Catherine’s Church and was a past president of Alter Society. She was a member of the American Sacred Heart of Oberlin, KS, Royal Neighbors, and Widowers and Friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Edna Jean; two brothers, Lawrence and James Jennings; son, Jerry Stoney; and daughter-in-law, Waunita Stoney.
Those left the to celebrate Nadean’s life are her daughters Jane (Pete) Jareske of Cozad, NE, Joyce Honeyman of McCook, NE, Janet (Kevin) Myers of Arvada, CO, Julie (Allen) Miles of North Platte, NE, and Jody Skidmore of Aurora, NE; sister, Betty Carlton of Keno, OR; and 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
