Patricia "Patsy" A Fisher

Patricia A. Fisher, age 81, of Indianola, NE passed away on November 5, 2023 in Lincoln, NE.

Patsy was born October 1, 1942 in McCook, NE to parents John Edward and Beulah Belle (Grieninger) Lauer. She was one of three children who grew up in Southwest, Nebraska where she attended Red Willow Consolidated School and McCook Community College before completing her education at Kearney State College in Kearney, NE.

On May 31, 1964, Patsy married the love of her life, Raymond E. Fisher in McCook. The couple made their home in rural Red Willow County and were blessed with four children. The family began a lifelong career in agriculture.

Patsy retired from Southwest Public School after a rewarding 39 years of teaching Music and English. Patsy loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and volunteering her time at church and within the community. Whether in the classroom or at church, music played a special role in Patsy’s life. When she wasn’t busy helping on the farm, Patsy could be found singing in and directing her church choir, playing the piano for a friend’s wedding or singing at a funeral. Regardless of the occasion, Patsy loved music.  She also enjoyed reading, quilting, square dancing and spending time boating in the summer months.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and son in law, Benjamin Torres.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Raymond “Doc” Fisher of Indianola, NE, children, Eric (Tracey) Fisher, Indianola, NE, Jason (Jodie) Fisher of Ravenna, NE, Lori Fisher of Lincoln, NE and Brenda (Clint) Cain of Kansas City, MO; siblings, Gary (Megan) Lauer of Kiowa, CO and Cheryl Schuett of Grand Island, NE; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.
